Why does it take so long to
open the slide show? The
slide show is a very large file. Depending on the speed of your internet
connection, it could take from several seconds to several minutes to
open the file.
How can I tell if the file
is going to open or not? I'm just looking at an empty screen.
The file may still be in the process of being opened. You may get a window
telling you the percent completed. Or you may just get an empty screen.
If you have an empty screen, move your cursor down to the bottom of the
screen where the browser status bar is. If you get an hour-glass, the
browser is still working to open your file.
When I try to open the
slideshow, why do I get an error that I don't have the correct program
or need to browse for it?
The slideshow uses "PowerPoint." If you
do not have PowerPoint or the PowerPoint Viewer installed, click
here to install the Viewer.
I already have PowerPoint (or the
PowerPoint Viewer), but I still get the error that I don't have the
correct file.
Windows doesn't know - or has forgotten -
that it should use PowerPoint to open this file. If you are are running
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or above (or Window Vista), you can use the
PPSFIX utility to resolve this. Otherwise,
select the "Select the program from a list" option and click OK. Then
scroll down the list of programs looking for "Microsoft Office
PowerPoint" or "Microsoft Office PowerPoint Slide Show." If you find it,
select it and click OK.
I'm still having problems.
What can I do?
